Last night was the first night the Made for More documentary from Rachel Hollis was available on Amazon video for Prime users. So, I got in bed at 8:30 pm after I put the kids to bed and turned it on. Note: This is the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I watched TV in BED!!!! Seriously, I’ve never had a TV in my bedroom! This is a total sidenote, and I’m not sure I love it, it’s convenient, but this was probably the wrong thing to watch as this documentary DID NOT put me to sleep, but rather had me laying in bed thinking about what more I wanted to do with my life!

Now, you probably know I already read her book Girl, Wash Your Face since I wrote a review about it. So, I was excited to watch this documentary, I was hoping it would inspire me. And I was right, it did. It really had me thinking about what I want to with my life. I really do believe I have more to do, that I haven’t scratched the surface yet on making a difference, and this documentary confirmed my feelings on that.

Rachel also says in it. You have to pick ONE thing to focus on at a time. And I think that is where my hold-up is right now. What is that ONE thing I want to do? I have so many ideas and thoughts going on in my head, and I haven’t really just focused on ONE. So, that’s been my dilemma, what do I focus on? What should I start with?

We now have a babysitter that is here pretty much 15 hours a week. So, I have 15 hours a week to get done the work I need to get done, how am I going to make the most of it? I’ve decided I’m going to start by focusing on my very first entrepreneurial adventure, the one that literally puts food on our table, Creare Web Solutions. I want to build that business so that I can really help more people create websites. Small businesses need great websites. And we provide that for them. But, sometimes we’re out of their budget. So, I want to find a way to help more businesses create the website they need. The solution: Website in a Weekend. I’m going to provide clients with all the assets they need to create their very own, beautiful website, in one weekend. And then, if they need help expanding on it, upkeeping it, etc. I’m here for them.

I cannot wait to launch this and get it out there for people who really need the help. I will be sure to update you as soon as it is ready and available. So, hold me accountable – it better be by the end of the month!

Once I’ve done that, and put my energies towards launching that I’m going to brainstorm on the next important thing to focus my time on, and as always I’ll update you with what that is when I get there.

Now, back to the documentary.

One of the biggest takeaways is you need 5 things to be successful:

  1. Physical Environment – Hello clean house! See? My family thinks I’m crazy, but I’m always pushing for a tidy house!
  2. Personal Environment – Are you eating healthy, drinking enough water, using products that aren’t harmful, and exercising? (I need to work on that last piece quite a bit!)
  3. Community – Who do you surround yourself with? Do they lift you up and inspire you to be the best you can be? You are the combination of the 5 people you are always around (for me, that’s basically my family, what about you?!) Who are your role models? Maybe they aren’t physically present in your life, but are you reading and absorbing their wisdom? In the last year my biggest inspiration has been Richard Branson, but of course, he has no idea!
  4. Morning Routine – This is where I need my work!!! I am starting a new routine to get my days going and keep me focused on the future. It starts NOW. I’m promising this to myself – I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.
  5. Habits – We don’t realize it, but our actions trigger reactions without us thinking. Do you have bad habits you need to change? Personally, I need to instill good habits especially when it comes to exercising and getting enough sleep. My goal is for the next 30 days to start a morning routine where I get up and exercise and go through my emails all before the rest of my family wakes up. It’s an aggressive goal, but I’m all-in going for it!

Does this inspire you to make a change? What do you need to work on in your life? I want to hear about it!

xoxo
